Pretty Girl Movement

Sunday, November 30, 2014

Hello Lilies!

Today I wanted to take the time to shed some light on a new company with a great purpose. This company is called, "Pretty Girl Movement." This company is one that promotes fitness, allowing women who love to work out to know that they are beautiful. The CEO of Pretty Girl Movement wants to promote fellowship among other women along with living a healthy lifestyle. But this company does not solely focus on beauty on the outside, but their mission statement from the CEO herself, says it all.

"My goal was to create a concept that promotes fitness, healthy living, and fellowship amid women. I had this vision to create a brand that would inspire women to push toward becoming the best version of themselves. True happiness, contentment, and beauty are met internally; attainment is incomparable, independent, and most importantly - possible."

I love companies that represent so much more than their products. I know I am all about fashion on a budget, but if a company has a deeper meaning behind it spending the money is worth it to me. But lucky for us Pretty Girl Movement has a great message as well as great prices! If you head to their website (the link will be posted below), Pretty Girl Movement has some pretty fabulous gear for some pretty fabulous prices! Even if you don't consider yourself to be a fitness guru, the message of Pretty Girl Movement goes beyond fitness. And I think that is something all women can support.

Pretty Girl Movement has tons of apparel on their website such as hats, tanks, long sleeves, and even phone cases! (Crazy right?!) All of these ranging from $12-$35. Not too shabby if I must say! They are also coming out with new things so you will not want to miss out (TRUST ME). I am so glad that I have gotten the opportunity to get to know this company and share with you guys what they are all about!

You can follow Pretty Girl Movement on their social media sites which are all available on their main website. If you want to purchase apparel and learn more about this movement than I strongly suggest you check it out!

Until next time!

Black Friday Sales!

Saturday, November 29, 2014

Hello Lilies!

I am well aware that I am not the only one who went shopping on Black Friday and I am very happy that I did! I went to a lot of stores and really tried to get some good deals (like anyone would on Black Friday). I am proud to say that with all of the sales going on I only spent $75! Of course I could have busted the budget, but where is the fun in that?

First photo: Green sweater, $25-- American Eagle
* American Eagle was having a sale where EVERYTHING was 40%! How could I resist?

Second photo: Joggers, $20 -- Target
* Target was having the same sale as American Eagle with clothes. I WAS IN HEAVEN.

Third photo: Polka dot sweater, $15 -- Target/ Green Shirt, $7 -- Target/ Tan pants, $25 -- American Eagle

Fourth photo: Shirts, $6 -- Target (Each were $3)

Fifth photo: Socks, $12 -- Target (Each were $3)

Although I only stuck to two stores I am so happy about my purchases! They still have sales going on this weekend so your fashion on a budget is still possible! Definitely check these stores, along with others, out and enjoy your budget friendly purchases. I know that I am!

Vests on Vests on Vests!

Wednesday, November 26, 2014

Hello Lilies!

Lately the trend of fall and winter vests have been making its way into my heart, and I am not complaining. I am absolutely in LOVE with vests! I love really simple ones but I am starting to like the printed ones as well. They are easy to pair over sweaters and you can dress them up or dress them down! Well, we all know that J.Crew is selling them but those prices are a little bit too pricey for me. If ever I am able to afford them, that will be a great day. But for now I am loving all of the bargain vests that I am finding! Did I mention the fact that they are super cute?

I searched and searched online and I was able to find a couple of stores that are selling them for very good prices!

Store #1: Target!

As if Target isn't super cute already, they have some very stylish vests online and in stores. Depending on whether you would want quilted or puffy, these vests will range from $35-$40. Not too shabby!

Store #2: Kohl's!

I am a huge fan of Kohl's! So when I went there for a little "treat" shopping you can imagine my excitement when I found their vest section! (P.S The vest pictured above is from Kohl's and only $20!). There are plenty of other options, depending on what you like your range will be from $20-$40!

Store #3: Old Navy!

Good ole' Old Navy. Now these vests are going to be slightly higher but no more than $40. Like the other stores they are going to have tons of options (cute ones of course). But also like the other stores, depending on what your taste is, these vests will range from around $30-$40.

I am absolutely in love with this trend and I hope that my findings help you to express yourself a little bit easier. My goal is to always find great style for great prices and I hope to have accomplished that today! Have a happy Thanksgiving y'all!

Katie

Bound for Freedom

Wednesday, November 19, 2014

Hello Lilies!

I know it has been a while but I will get back in the swing of things, PROMISE! I have some things in the works for the next couple of posts so be prepared!

Tonight I wanted to highlight another company that I believe is doing amazing things! This company is called "Bound for Freedom." I love this company not only because they sell fair trade products and social justice merchandise, but because they are a movement. They understand that everyone is battling something, and that everyone desires freedom from something. Whether it be your financial problems, addictions, oppression, ANYTHING. I know my blog is all about saving money and with this company you can still do that. But if you were going to spend money, do it for a company with a great cause. Every purchase from Bound for Freedom helps and supports a cause. It can go to sex trafficking victims or child soldiers, but whatever the cause may be it goes to helping others find their freedom!

Below I have shown some of their products which are featured on their website as well as in their store in St. Joseph, MI.

Bound for Freedom is a company that should be recognized for all of the good it is bringing to others! For more information about the company and their goals and merchandise, visit,

 Until next time!

Work it Wednesday

Wednesday, November 5, 2014

Hello Lilies!

Today is what I like to call "Work it Wednesday!" This morning I woke up feeling a little edgy and fabulous (AS SHOULD ALL OF YOU!). I felt a little inspired by Chris Brown's fashion style and decided to copy a look he had done in one of his videos. BUT, on my budget and with different shoes. Plus, I was super happy with the weather today and decided that a light leather jacket would be just fine for the day.

PRICES ANYONE?

Jacket: $0 (A GIFT) --> BUT, I was doing my research and there are plenty of places; H&M, Forever 21, that sell leather jackets for $60 or under. It all depends on your style preference. Mine has a little padding in the shoulders for an extra flair.

White Tee: $3 (Walmart), take advantage of the clearance section!

Red/Black Flannel: $18 (Kohl's), some of their flannels are going on sale, not sure why but I cannot complain about it!

Black Jeans: $17.50 (American Eagle), I am telling you people, LOOK IN THE CLEARANCE SECTION! And American Eagle is always doing deals on jeans!

Boots: $30 (Maurices), Maurices is a great place for reasonably priced shoes! I never knew this until I went there and browsed around. Good quality and great price!

I love sales and I love fashion, thankfully the two go hand in hand! Until next time Lilies!

Katie

Fierce Red Lipstick

Sunday, November 2, 2014

Hello Lilies!

FRL Model
I wanted to take a moment and use this post as a chance to tell you about a really great company with a really great cause! The company is Fierce Red Lipstick and they are local right out of Marion, Indiana. They are a company whose goal is to inspire women to look good, feel good, and do good! The CEO, Katara McCarty created this line inspired by her niece Jazz who recently passed away. I have had the pleasure of being able to work with Katara and see her work first hand. It is so refreshing to see someone so passionate for others in what they do! I personally love this brand because it is inspiring women to be bold, strong, and most of all FIERCE!

So where can you get it?! Fierce Red Lipstick products are available at www.fierceredlipstick.com and also at the Claire Clark Beauty Lounge that was recently opened in Marion, Indiana (if you are around this area). The prices for these lipsticks are not expensive, running $20 for a tube of lipstick and varying depending on items. AND, there are so many different colors and options it will make your head spin! My personal favorite? That would have to be "LaLa!" This color is a deep burgundy that has been my absolute favorite to wear this time of season. It gives your outfit the perfect "pop" of color that it beautiful for the fall!

Lastly, I have to express that when you purchase a Fierce Red Lipstick item, a portion of your purchase will be going towards helping young girls discover their self worth and inner fierceness! This will be displayed to youth camps that will hopefully be spread throughout the nation.

Through my outfits I love expressing my character and who I am. I love that this company gives women the chance to do the same through their lipstick! Until next time lilies, be bold, be creative, and most of all be FIERCE!

Too Cute Tuesday

Tuesday, October 28, 2014

Hello Lilies!

First off, let me apologize for my lack of posting this past week. My husband and I just bought a new house and I will be without WiFi for another week! Nevertheless, we are super excited and have been running around like crazy trying to get our house in order. This will not stop me from posting and I will be keeping up with my normal posting schedule this week!

For those of you that live in Indiana you should know that we had gorgeous weather yesterday for the end of October! It was almost 80 degrees! I mean, SERIOUSLY! The weather was gorgeous but threw a couple of people off for what they should wear. If you are like me, all of my summer clothes and shoes were tucked away in storage containers till Fall and Winter are over. I didn't want to wear shorts because, well, it's OCTOBER. But I didn't want to wear full on fall/winter clothes and burn up. And then I ran into this little cutie!

Emily Wright
Her name is Emily Wright and she is a nursing student at the college I attend. Her outfit was perfect for the crazy hit of gorgeous weather. She took a cute spring outfit, with her skirt and blouse, and added fall essentials; cardigan and boots, to make the perfect blend! And of course I have to mention the great deals that brought this outfit to life!

Cardigan: Walmart, $10

Blouse: Borrowed

Skirt: Plato's Closet, $6

Boots: Shoe Carnival, $30

Emily did a wonderful job making her outfit wearable in the sudden case of summer weather at the end of October and that's why she is featured on "Too Cute Tuesday!"
